Charlotte Christensen joined Montash, part of the QXi Group, as an Associate Consultant five years ago. Now a Managing Consultant, Charlotte fronts the Cyber Security Practice for permanent hiring across Europe with passion, drive and consistent delivery.
But her journey wasn’t typical.
She began her QXi career in the London office, but after a few years, she and her family decided to relocate to Germany. Rather than seeing this as a barrier, Charlotte presented the idea to QXi - and the response was immediate and supportive.
“They were happy to roll with it,” she recalled. “They let me try something new.”
QXi’s flexible, people-first culture enabled Charlotte to continue in her role remotely, while building a new life abroad. That flexibility became even more critical when she returned from maternity leave.
“They were incredibly supportive,” she said. “I came back part-time at first and gradually increased my hours when it was right for me.”
This phased return helped Charlotte find her rhythm again - personally and professionally. With the freedom to work in a way that fit her family life, she was able to be present with her son and still deliver exceptional results at work.
“It meant everything,” she said. “Having that work-life balance allowed me to be fully present at home and fully committed at work. I never felt I had to compromise either.”
Importantly, QXi never viewed her evolving circumstances as a drawback. Where other companies might have hesitated at the idea of a part-time, fully remote consultant based in a different country, QXi leaned in.
“They stood by me through all of it,” Charlotte explained. “And that made it possible for me to grow again - this time by building a new team in Germany.”
What began as a personal relocation turned into an opportunity for professional expansion. Charlotte has since begun leading a team in Dresden, secured local office space and continued to contribute to the UK culture by returning regularly.
Her story is a testament to what happens when businesses back their people - wholeheartedly and without condition.
“QXi supported my way of working,” Charlotte said. “And because of that, I was able to give them my best.”
Charlotte’s journey with QXi shows the real value of flexible working, not just as a policy, but as a mindset. It’s proof that trusting people to work in a way that works for them leads to long-term loyalty, high performance, and powerful success stories.
“That’s why we’re the best people in technology.”
